The Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cape May in partnership with the City of Cape May and Constant Contact presents

Social Media Day in Cape May Monday, September 17th 2012

Google's recent acquisition of Frommer's drives home how crucial business local search and reviews really are, and how important it is to stay abreast of current trends in social media. And to that end, we bring you Social Media Day in Cape May!

Please join the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cape May, the City of Cape May and Constant Contact for a series of four free programs on social media at Cape May's new Convention Hall on Monday, September 17th. The series will be presented by Dave Yunghans, Constant Contact Greater Philadelphia Metro Regional Development Director and Carolinn Pocher Woody of CPW Creative Communications, the Authorized Constant Contact Local Expert for South Jersey.

There will also be fabulous prizes! We're giving away 8 copies of Constant Contact CEO Gail Goodman's Engagement Marketing and we will be giving away a Kindle Fire during Program 4.  Each entry to a program gets an additional entry to the drawing.  Must be present to win. Bonus- the first 200 registrants receive a hospitality bag from the Chamber of Commerce.

Learn at the four free seminars,  then play, shop and eat in Cape May- America's Favorite Victorian Seaside resort.

The day's programs will run as follows:

Program 1: 9-10:30-  Power of Email Marketing:
Why Your Email Doesn't Get Opened

Ever wonder why your email doesn't get opened or read? Email is everywhere - you can't reach for your phone anymore and not end up "doing " your email- which in most cases involves hitting the delete button 9 times in a row! Did you ever ask yourself why? Why did you get all of those emails in the first place? Is the term eBlast part of your vocabulary? Should it be?  We'll show you examples of what works, and what doesn't.

15 Minute Break

Program 2: 10:45-12:15- Social Media Marketing Made Simple:
Small Business & Social Media-It's Different Now

As a small business owner, you know it takes time to develop relationships- time to listen, participate, and to create that wow experience that generates customer referrals. In this FREE seminar, We'll teach you how to leverage social media to help you get more- referrals, sales and that lost hour back in your day!

Break for Lunch: Walk to your favorite Cape May restaurant!

Program 3: 1:30-3pm- Engagement Marketing:
Marketing Your Business with the New Digital Tools
As a small business owner, you've always relied on word-of-mouth referrals to grow your business. Thanks to social media-and its nimble partner, mobile technology-it's now easier than ever to turn customers and clients into engaged fans who spread the word about your business across a variety of online platforms. And that's what Engagement Marketing is all about. You'll learn how to attract new prospects-as well as how to increase repeat sales-using your existing customers and social networks. Learn how to create customer experiences that increase positive customer reviews and endorsements. Understand why engagement is so important-and how you can use it to turn passionate fans in your social networks into tomorrow's new business!

15 Minute Break

Program 4: 3:15- 5pm Special Hands On Workshop (Bring Your Laptop):
Getting Started with Constant Contact

OK! Let's really dig into how the Constant Contact software works! Watch and see how a newsletter is created and mailed. We'll show you how to upload your mailing list, pick a template, design a newsletter, upload and edit pictures, and schedule your email to be sent to your customers on your mailing list. We'll answer as many questions as you can bring.

This session will also review all of the best practices from previous sessions, and provide you with all that you need to go home and create your newsletter! Bring your laptop and an open mind!
