Cape May City is so much more than a beach town, though the lovely beaches and harbor certainly enhance the atmosphere and add to the opportunities for enjoyment.

Part of what makes Cape May City so sustainable is the fact that this lovely seaside city provides everything you need. No need to run to the mall or big box stores. Cape May City promotes as part of its sustainability initiative...

Buy Local

This campaign promotes patronage at local Bed & Breakfasts, Inns, Hotels, Restaurants, Taverns, Clothing and Gift Boutiques, Art Galleries, Jewelry Stores, Toy Stores, Book Stores, Surf Shops, and Candy Shops. Buying local doesn't have to even involve buying, just participating in the wonderful variety of events and festivals happening throughout the year as you can see further down on the page.

Cape May City´s government is not the only organization going green. Many business owners are making a commitment to sustainability through energy conservation measures like insulation, lighting, and high efficiency windows; alternative energy use; choosing and using green cleaning products; sourcing food from local farms; and of course reducing, reusing, and recycling - even food waste.
