Councilmember Maureen K. McDade

Maureen McDade began coming to Cape May as a young girl when her parents purchased a vacation home in Village Greene in the mid-70’s.  She became a full-time resident in 2019 when she and her husband, Joe, retired here.

She immediately sought involvement with the community volunteering with MAC and began working at one of the historic B&B’s, The Mainstay.

Maureen became a Village Greene Board member in 2021 and now serves as the Association’s President, served as a member of the Taxpayers Board, MTRAC Advisory Committee as well as an alternate member of the Zoning Board of Adjustment.

By way of professional background, Maureen was a senior health care executive with extensive experience in the development of multi-million-dollar budgets, versed with legal and regularly related matters and has strong project management expertise.

When she and her husband discussed their options of where to live when they retired Cape May was their one and only choice.   They wanted a small and friendly community and after Maureen’s initial involvement with local organizations and committees she recognized that she had both the capacity and ability to further commit to the role of public service.  With the support of the residents of the City, Maureen was elected to Council.  She is committed to keep the promises made during her campaign – to represent both the residents and businesses of this community, ensure that the landscape of the City going forward respects its history and to employ sound business judgement when making any decision.
