CAPE MAY, NJ - Summer may be winding down, but there is still plenty of time to get outside and enjoy Cape May! The City of Cape May invites residents and visitors to take part in the Locals’ Summer Bike Ride on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 5:30 PM.
This free community event will feature a three-mile, slow-paced bike ride through the City of Cape May, offering participants an opportunity to enjoy an evening ride while celebrating the “Local Summer” at the shore.
The ride will begin at the Cape May Community Center, 110 Ocean Street. Registration will open at 5:00 PM, with the group departing at 5:30 PM. Designed as a fun, family-friendly community activity, the ride will travel approximately three miles around the City. Helmets are required for all participants, and due to the nature of the group ride, experienced riders are suggested.
“September is one of the best times of the year to get outside and enjoy everything Cape May has to offer,” said Councilmember Steve Bodnar. “The Locals’ Summer Bike Ride is a great way to bring neighbors, families, and friends together for an evening of recreation and community.”
There is no cost to participate, and riders are encouraged to bring their bicycles, helmets, and enthusiasm for an evening exploring Cape May on two wheels. In the event of inclement weather, the rain date is September 17, 2026. Come out, hop on your bike, and celebrate Locals’ Summer in Cape May!
