CITY OF CAPE MAY GUIDE TO RECYCLING

 

Cape May City provides once-a-week curbside pick-up on a designated day (call 609-884-9570). Recycling must be placed curbside after 6:00PM the evening before the designated day (see map below) and before 6:00AM on the pick-up day in containers not to exceed 50 lbs.or 48 gallon in size.

 CURBSIDE SINGLE STREAM ITEMS

 

Paper:  Newspapers with inserts, office paper, junk mail, brown paper bags, magazines, telephone and paper back books, gift, shoe, tissue and powdered detergent boxes, dry food boxes, beer and soda carriers.

Plastic:  #1 through #7 plastic bottles  (No Lids), and containers including food and beverage containers (margarine tubs, microwave trays, yogurt containers, etc.), health, beauty and cleaning product containers, rigid plastic containers including buckets and landscape pots (2.5 gallon in size or less).

Metal:  Food, beverage and aerosol cans, aluminum, steel (2.5 gallons in size or less).

Glass:  Food, beverage glass containers including clear, green, brown bottles, jars and jugs.

 

CURBSIDE SEPARATE ITEMS

 

Grass & Leaves (ONLY):  Curbside pick-up from April 15 thru December 15 (NO YARD WASTE). Must be in open container or recycle bags. NO BRANCHES

The Central Station accepts all of the curbside recycling 

materials, brush and branches, metal items, 

electronics, white goods (refrigerators, washers/dryers, air conditioners, etc.)

 

DO NOT RECYCLE:  Food contaminated boxes, 

styrofoam packaging, polystyrene egg cartons, wax-coated

cardboard boxes, window glass, beverage cups, paint cans, PVC pipes, light bulbs, plastic bags, any item that contained chemical or hazardous products.

 

TRASH:  The City of Cape May does not provide trash or bulk item collection. Please contact a private hauler.
