Parking Meter Information

Washington Street Mall area
Carpenters Lane, Lyle Lane, and Mansion Street

ALL OTHER PARKING METERS IN THE CITY ARE IN EFFECT BEGINNING MAY 1 

PARKING METER HOURS IN CITY OF CAPE MAY

With the following exceptions, parking meters are in effect May 1 to October 31, every day, from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. All meters are 25 cents per ten minutes and stand-alone meters only accept quarters or Parkmobile. Multi-meters also accept credit cards and Parkmobile. Change is available from several businesses and at beach tag sales booths, during the beach season. The City provides a five (5) minute grace period on all meters, before an overtime violation occurs.

EXCEPTIONS

  1. Cape May Stage Parking Lot on Lafayette Street - No Parking on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, & Monday from July 1 to Labor Day.  
  2. Broadway from Beach to Grant, First Avenue from Beach to street end, Mt. Vernon Avenue from Patterson to street end, Patterson Avenue from Beach to Mt. Vernon Avenue, Second Avenue from Beach to street end. June 1 to September 15, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  3. Washington Street Mall area, Carpenters Lane, Lyle Lane, and Mansion Street April 1st - December 31st.

S. Lafayette Street

Metered Parking 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ($1.50 an hour)

All meters east of Philadelphia Avenue (Reading Ave, Trenton Ave & Beach Ave)

Metered Parking 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. ($1.50 an hour)

Broadway
Grant Street
Mt. Vernon Avenue
Patterson Avenue


Free Parking Locations

Free parking is available at the Cape May Elementary School located at the intersection of Lafayette Street and  Madison Avenue Saturday and Sunday while school is in session and daily during the summer break till 11:00PM, there is to be NO OVERNIGHT PARKING.
